MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Dear Friends,
On behalf of the United Way of Washington County Mississippi board of directors, I would like to extend thanks and gratitude to all the sponsors, businesses, and volunteers for all the support received year after year. All of you are essential to the success of the yearly campaign.
The United Way of Washington County (UWWC) consists of eleven local agencies who provide essential programs to our community such as counseling services, medication assistance and medical needs, housing assistance, mentoring and much more. The UWWC agencies are helpers to our neighbors, friends and family members living right in our own neighborhoods. I can assure you that 99% of every dollar given stays right here in Washington County.
During the pandemic, most agencies did not stop their vital work and in fact, some of them were busier than ever before. And because we live in such a giving community, you did not stop giving. I am always proud to say I live in Washington County with the most caring and concerned people on the planet. You make the United Way of Washington County prosper. Last year, the campaign raised the monetary goal and was able to allocate $143,100 to the agencies. As you know, the work and fundraising does not ever end because the essential programs and their missions continue.
Our mission is to identify community needs and bring together resources necessary to enhance people’s lives in Washington County, simple but extremely important to the quality of life for many. I want to thank you again for all that you do and have done in the past for our agencies and community. We really are all #UNITED TOGETHER.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer or donate, please contact Jennifer Russell, Executive Director, Donna Lauderdale, Executive Director, or myself.
Sincerely,
Kim Dowdy
