​UWWC Partners with Community Counseling Center to Provide Support Following Leland, MS Tragedy

GREENVILLE, MS – October 15, 2025 – United Way of Washington County is partnering with Community Counseling Center in Greenville, Mississippi, to raise funds for counseling and grief support services for those affected by the shooting in downtown Leland that claimed six lives this past weekend.

In response to this heartbreaking tragedy, United Way of Washington County and Community Counseling Center are working together to ensure that community members have access to the mental health support they need during this difficult time.

"Our community is hurting, and we want to ensure that anyone affected by this tragedy has access to professional counseling and grief support," said Nathan Benzing, Executive Director, United Way Washington County. "Through this partnership, we're committed to providing resources that will help our neighbors begin to heal."

Important: Donors are asked to include a note specifying that their donation is for "Leland shooting response" to ensure funds are directed to Community Counseling Center.
